Which Charities are going to Benefit?
Why were they chosen?
Our criteria for choosing our main charity was, it must:-
• Be local to Rutland / Leicestershire
• Be in
real
need of funding
• Be related to children
• Be small enough that we could make a real difference
So we went to our local GP and asked which charity they thought was really
worthy of our support. Without hesitation they
suggested Rainbows, an 8 bed children’s hospice in Loughborough. Both Fin and
Stuart are fathers and felt that a charity
supporting terminally ill children and their families was more than appropriate.
Fin and Stuart arranged to visit the hospice and were overwhelmed by the care
and love that is exuded from this wonderful
establishment. We noted that some of the bedrooms interconnect and it was
explained that they have families with up to
3 terminally ill children in at any one time! An image we struggled to come to
terms with.

In addition a donation will also be given to the
RNLI
to acknowledge their help
in bringing this challenge together,
especially their invaluable safety audits and general support.
